a) Description and scope of data processing
In order to make visiting our website attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use so-called cookies on various pages. These are small text files that are stored on your end device. Some of the cookies we use are deleted after the end of the browser session, i.e. after closing your browser (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your end device and enable us or our partner companies to recognize your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies).
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and decide individually whether to accept them or whether to exclude the acceptance of cookies in certain cases or in general. You can also manually delete cookies from your end device at any time.
If cookies are not accepted, the functionality of our website may be restricted.
Unless otherwise stated, the legal basis for processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.
Unless otherwise stated, your data will be transferred to third parties in the USA whose cookies are used via our website within the framework of the EU-USA Privacy Shields.
As an AdWords customer we use Google Conversion Tracking. This is an analysis service of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). When you access our website via a Google ad, Google Adwords places a cookie on your device (“conversion cookie”). This cookie expires after 30 days. It is not personally identifiable. If the cookie has not expired when you visit certain pages on our site, we and Google may recognize that someone clicked on the ad and was directed to our site. Each AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Therefore, cookies cannot be tracked through AdWords customer websites. The information collected by the Conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for Conversion Tracking. AdWords customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were directed to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they will not receive any information that could personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can also refuse to set a cookie as required, for example via your browser setting, which generally disables the automatic setting of cookies. You can also deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the “googleadservices.com” domain.
GOOGLE ADWORDS CONVERSION
We use Google AdWords to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites. In relation to the data of the advertising campaigns, we can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are. In doing so, we pursue the interest of showing you advertising that is of interest to you, of making our website more interesting for you and of achieving a fair calculation of advertising costs.
These advertising media are delivered by Google via so-called “Ad Servers”. We use ad server cookies for this purpose, which can be used to measure certain parameters for measuring success, such as the display of ads or clicks by users. If you access our website via a Google ad, Google Adwords stores a cookie on your PC. These cookies usually lose their validity after 30 days and are not intended to identify you personally. For this cookie, the unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) and opt-out information (marking that the user no longer wishes to be addressed) are usually stored as analysis values.
These cookies allow Google to recognize your Internet browser. If a user visits certain pages of an AdWords customer’s website and the cookie stored on their computer has not yet expired, Google and the customer may recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was directed to that page. Each Adwords customer is assigned a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be traced via the websites of Adwords customers. We ourselves do not collect and process any personal data in the aforementioned advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. On the basis of these evaluations we can recognise which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of the advertising media; in particular, we cannot identify users on the basis of this information.
Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the Google server. We have no influence on the extent and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: Through the integration of AdWords Conversion, Google receives the information that you have called the relevant part of our website or clicked on an advertisement from us. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible for the provider to find out and store your IP address.
You can prevent participation in this tracking process in various ways: a) by making the appropriate settings in your browser software, in particular by suppressing third-party cookies to prevent you from receiving advertisements from third parties; b) by deactivating cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the “www.googleadservices.com” domain, https://www.google.de/settings/ads, whereby this setting is deleted when you delete your cookies; c) by disabling the interest-based ads of the providers that are part of the “About Ads” self-regulatory campaign via the http://www.aboutads.info/choices link, whereby this setting is deleted when you delete your cookies; d) by permanently disabling it in your Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome browsers via the http://www.google.com/settings/ads/ plugin link. Please note that in this case you may not be able to make full use of all the functions of this offer.
You can find further information on data protection at Google here: http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy and https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html.
Besides Adwords Conversion we use the application Google Remarketing. This is a process with which we would like to address you again. With this application, you can be shown our advertisements after visiting our website when you continue to use the Internet. This is done by means of cookies stored in your browser, which are used by Google to record and evaluate your usage behaviour when you visit various websites. This allows Google to determine your previous visit to our website. According to Google’s own statements, the data collected during remarketing is not merged with your personal data, which may be stored by Google. In particular, according to Google, a pseudonymisation is used for remarketing.
We use the conversion tracking of Microsoft, Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA). If you access our website via a Bing ad, Microsoft Bing Ads places a cookie on your device. This allows Microsoft Bing and we to recognize that someone clicked on an ad and was directed to our website. We only know the total number of users who clicked on a Bing ad and were redirected. Personal information about the user’s identity is not disclosed. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can also refuse to set a cookie as required, for example via your browser setting, which generally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies, or via the means provided by Microsoft: https://account.microsoft.com/privacy/ad-settings/signedout?lang=en-EN.
FACEBOOK CUSTOM AUDIENCES RETARGETING
On our websites we use the retargeting tool “Website Custom Audiences” of Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. In the event that you have a Facebook user account and the tool recognizes this from existing Facebook cookies, this tool generates a non-personal checksum that is sent to Facebook for analysis and marketing purposes. Secondly, we encrypt your email address and send it to Facebook in encrypted form. Through cookie recognition and the transmission of encrypted information, Facebook can display targeted product recommendations as personalized advertising banners on Facebook on our behalf. You can object to the use of Facebook’s website Custom Audiences at https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/.
CRITEO AND MEDIAPLEX
On our websites, the technologies of the providers Criteo GmbH and Conversant Inc. collect and store information about the surfing behaviour of website visitors in anonymous form for marketing purposes. This data is stored on your computer using so-called “cookie” text files. Criteo and Conversant use algorithms to analyze surfing behavior and can then display targeted product recommendations as personalized advertising banners on other websites (so-called publishers). Under no circumstances can this data be used to personally identify the visitor to this website.
The collected data is only used to improve the offer. It will not be used or passed on to third parties in any other way. You can opt out of the completely anonymous analysis of your surfing behavior by clicking on this link for Criteo http://www.criteo.com/de/privacy/ to unsubscribe and for Conversant at http://www.conversantmedia.com/opt-out to unsubscribe.
We use the advertising service Sociomantic of dunnhumby Germany GmbH, Paul-Lincke-Ufer 39/40, 10999 Berlin. When you visit our website, a cookie is stored on your Sociomantic device. This allows Sociomantic to analyze your surfing behavior using algorithms and then display targeted product recommendations as personalized banners on other websites (known as publishers).
For more information on how Sociomantic works and to opt out of the processing of your personal data by Sociomantic, please visit https://www.sociomantic.com/privacy/en/.
